Do you think Alicia Keys is underrated?

I'm more of a hip hop fan but A. Keys is my favorite R&B artist. I was sort of watching the wack pre-show for the BET awards on Sunday. Well, they were asking other people who they were ready to see perform that night. Some people said Chris Brown and others said Beyonce. Even kelly Rowland was mentioned. Why is that? Do people like generic music and overlook the people that they deem "boring"? I've heard that before by people, that A. Keys is "boring" I don't understand it.
